  11. The other night I aborted a fax being sent on my USR Sportster V.34 internal 
  12. and the fax software left the modem off hook.  I made several attempts to use 
  13. a couple of terminal programs to reset the modem but they couldn't get control 
  14. of the com port to do it.  I even tried rebooting the computer and unplugging 
  15. the modem from the phone jack but the modem stayed off hook.  Finally I 
  16. removed the modem in control panel, rebooted the computer and reinstalled the 
  17. modem.

  19. Is there a method or utility available to reset an internal modem without 
  20. resorting to this?
